Who is Deniz Tuğcu?

When you buy a bottle of the Yakamoz Rakı and put it on your table, I feel as if you are also inviting me to your precious table. For this reason, I would like to introduce myself briefly here.

I was born in Turkey in 1976 and with youthful zeal I wanted to set out to make the world a better place, but unfortunately had to leave the country due to political persecution and arrived here in Germany in 1996. A short time later I started working as a cook in a restaurant in Bergheim. When I had saved enough money, I opened my restaurant Yakamoz in Weisweiler in 2005 – in 2008 we moved to Eschweiler. A year later I got married and in 2015 our son was born.

In all these years, my family, the Yakamoz restaurant and I have endured or are enduring the financial crisis (2008), a devastating water damage to the restaurant and the Corona pandemic, and despite all obstacles, we continue to grow.
